On July 26, 2013 the United States lost one of its finest songwriters and musicians. John Weldon Cale, better known as J.J. Cale, died of a heart attack in La Jolla, California.
His music is a tribute to the American Southwest; The
culture, the life style and the people of this parched section our land.
Influences of Rock, blues, jazz, country and rockabilly is entwined with “simple”
music and excellent guitar work.
He influenced many an aspiring guitarist and his songs were recorded by famous musicians, among other Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd and many more. His music will be missed. I have spent many hours listening to his music and will continue to do so. If not already it is
only a matter of time before his music will become part of American heritage. True
Americana.
Thank you for the music. JJ Cale RIP.
